早期
圣安东尼奥学院, one of the oldest community colleges in Texas, was established as University Junior 大学 in September 1925, under the auspices of the University of Texas. The following year control of the 大学 was transferred to the 圣安东尼奥 Independent School 区 and the name was changed to 圣安东尼奥 Junior 大学.
With passage of state legislation authorizing the creation of junior college districts, administrators embarked on an active campaign to create the 圣安东尼奥 Union Junior 大学 区. Approved in 1945, the 区 assumed control of the 圣安东尼奥 Junior 大学 and St. 菲利普的 Junior 大学, originally a private Episcopal Institution, in 1946. 两年后, "Junior" was dropped from the names of the colleges, and attention focused on finding a permanent facility.
The 大学’s first offices were housed at 203 Romano Street on the northwest side of 主要大街nue High School near Romano Plaza. The campus was moved in 1926 to the 400 block of South Alamo Street, once home to the German-English school.

1951年1月, 圣安东尼奥学院 moved to its present site on San Pedro Avenue across from San Pedro Park. 招生 was less than 500 students. The Southern Association of 大学 and Schools granted accreditation to the college in 1952.
In the mid-1960s the college expanded its mission to include vocational, technical and adult education. By the late 1960s 圣安东尼奥学院 became a comprehensive community college by expanding offerings in occupational and technical courses and by assuming the 圣安东尼奥 Independent School 区’s continuing education program.

The name of the 大学 district was changed to 圣安东尼奥 社区 大学 区 in 1978 and in 1982 the district was renamed the Alamo 社区 大学 区. In 2009 trustees approved that the ACCD be referred to as 十大网赌正规网址官网区 to encompass all five colleges.
In support of the mission of the Alamo 社区 大学 区, 圣安东尼奥学院 responds to Bexar县’s diverse community by providing high quality general education, liberal arts and sciences, 职业生涯教育, continuing education and developmental education.
